Routioneer uses everyday language and keeps family tasks separate from parent controls. This guide explains what to choose, where to tap, and what happens next.

Already installed? You’re ready to follow along. If not, ask the person who manages your home server to set it up first.

First-time setup

Set up your home in five simple steps.

Only a parent or administrator needs to do this. You can come back to Settings and change these choices later.

  1. 1

    Name your space

    Enter your household name, choose an admin password and check your time zone. Then select Complete setup.

  2. 2

    Add each person

    Open Parent dashboard → Settings → Users. Select Add user, enter a name and optional PIN, then select Save user.

  3. 3

    Add shared items

    Open the Items tab and select Add item. Give it a name, decide whether it uses daily time and choose who may use it.

  4. 4

    Add chores and rewards

    Open the Chores tab and select Add chore. Choose who does it, how often it repeats and any minutes earned after approval.

  5. 5

    Set the daily routine

    In General, set screen-time minutes for each day. You can also add a Family Space password and a message for the shared screen.

For family members

Use an item and finish a chore.

1 Open your profile

Choose Family space, then select your name. Enter your PIN if your parent gave you one.

2 Complete a chore

Find the chore under your profile and select Submit chore. If it is required, a parent must approve it before you can check out an item.

3 Check out an item

Under Choose an item, select an available item, then select Check out selection. Items marked “Uses time” count down your daily allowance.

4 Check it back in

Return to your profile and select Check in item. This makes the item available for the next person.

For parents and administrators

Handle everyday requests.

1 Open the dashboard

Choose Parent dashboard and enter the admin password. The overview shows today’s remaining time, active checkouts and recent activity.

2 Review a chore

Under Chore approvals, choose Approve to add the reward or Reject to send it back. Use Reset if an approval was made by mistake.

3 Change today’s time

On a person’s card, use −15m, +15m or Set. Choose Default to return to today’s normal allowance.

4 Keep a backup

Open Settings → Data and choose Download backup. Keep that file somewhere safe in case you need to restore your household later.

Family Space
The everyday area where people choose a profile, complete chores and borrow items.
Parent dashboard
The password-protected area for approvals, time changes and household settings.
Timed item
An item that uses a person’s daily allowance while it is checked out.
Required chore
A chore that must be completed and approved before an item can be checked out.
Reward
Extra minutes added to today’s allowance after a parent approves a chore.
